Big Ben Additions is a mixed use development located in southwest Cedar Rapids in the College Community and Kirkwood Community College educational district. High student enrollment at these two campuses has produced a large growth in housing development on the southwest side and surrounding communities. Nearly 5,800 students are enrolled in College Community Schools and approximately 13,906 students attend Kirkwood Community College. A portion of Big Ben Additions has been purchased and reserved for multi-family housing to help fill housing gaps in the area.
